Week 9 of 12: things we make when we’re alone, warm, and separate

ARTISTS | Caitlind r.c. Brown & Wayne Garrett, Rikia Novotny

Caitlind r.c. Brown & Wayne Garrett built a faux fur-lined cave in the living room, constructed with costume scraps from a feature film recently shot in Calgary.

When participants crawled inside, they heard an edited collection of tummy gurgles, captured during Week 5 of The Hibernation Project: FEASTING. In this warm, soft environment, these sounder were reminiscent of cave noises – wet and spatial.

Rikia Novotny gathered everyone inside the cave for the reading of a children’s book, Bear Snores On, a story about winter, hibernation, and togetherness.
