Participate as an Artist

Want to participate in The Hibernation Project? Check out our list of themes and then get in touch to tell us that you’re interested!

This year, our locations include:

  • Our house and yard in the Calgary/Mohkinstsis neighbourhood of Ramsay!
  • The radio and online!
  • Public places like public tobogganing hills!

If you’re participating in a project at our house, you are welcome to create work in the days leading up to the event, or on the day-of. Alternatively, you can bring work you have created ahead of time.

All mediums – from telepathy, to performance art, to sculpture, to cake decoration – are welcome.

The Hibernation Project is DIY and artist-run initiative. It is currently unfunded. In the spirit of “no money, no pressure,” we hope to maintain a democratic situation where genuine experimentation is joyfully undertaken. Wherever possible, in-kind resources and snackz are offered to participating artists. Imperfect experiments are the name of the game. Come have fun and make something new with us!

Safety Note: participants and viewers are invited in the spirit of warmth, community, and personal agency. If you attend, you are participating at your own risk, but we’ll work together to keep each other safe. This is a place of sharing, mutual respect, and kindness. ❤️ Thanks folks!
