A contextualizing note from Caitlind: “it seems important to share that I chose a Chiquita Banana sticker arbitrarily, mostly because it was the nostalgic ‘fancy banana lady’ sticker of my youth. But a dear friend has since pointed out the less than savoury legacy of violence associated with Chiquita Banana in Colombia. We’re talking bloodshed and a great deal of tropical fruit crime. I definitely wouldn’t make this sticker again, even now, a few days later. But I appreciate that it led to some learning about the Banana Wars in South America. Just a little note for anyone, like me, who didn’t know the history associated with Chiquita Banana and the seemingly friendly fruit we so often enjoy 🍌💩

The final sled! Carter & Sasha White with their critter sled.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s TOBOGGAPALOOZA!
